Mr. Karim Elsoda graduated from the Faculty of Law, Cairo University in May 2009 and obtained a Diploma in International Criminal law in July 2013. Mr. Karim has worked for one of the top law firms in Egypt before turning to developing his own practice where he advised top tier individual and corporate client on several array of matters in different areas of the law. In particular, Mr. Karim has the following experiences:
- Leading and assisting in the issuance of the first smart transport license in Egypt for one of the top smart rides hailing companies in Egypt.
- Assisting with the listing of Swvl in Nasdaq.
- Representing one of the top companies before the Egyptian Competition Authority and assisting in suspending the merger between Uber and Kareem which would have negatively affected the future of ride hailing start-up businesses in Egypt.
- Hands on experience in the licensing and registration of factories, warehouses and distribution points in the food industry for one of the fast-emerging online supermarkets in Egypt.
- Registration of trademarks and filing appeals in relation to rejected trademark applications.
- Close experience in handling employment matters including investigations, attending hearings before the labor office, negotiating and successfully concluding settlements with senior employees following the 2011 revolution.
- Handling corporate matters including preparing, drafting and ratifying General Shareholders meetings and Board of Directors meetings.
- Managing regulatory matters including licensing, applying for tax rebates, environmental compliance, social insurance compliance and registering share ownership transfers.
- Representing several individual and corporate clients in several lawsuits including commercial, civil, criminal and employment law matters. Job assignment includes legal research, writing legal memos, attending and defending the clients in oral hearings before courts and experts.
- Advising clients on commercial and regulatory matters including antitrust & competition, commercial agency, commercial contracts, employment, intellectual property, international trade Agency, Distribution and franchise agreements and regulatory compliance.
- Working on complex litigations involving multi-national companies before the Egyptian Courts involving IP, civil, anti-trust, anti-competition and commercial law. Work included legal research, drafting legal memos and appearing before courts.
- Our experience includes advising clients on several major transactions and joint ventures taking place during the past decade.
